Connect TikTok Ads to Metrikia
Step-by-step guide to connecting your TikTok Ads accounts via OAuth, managing multiple advertiser_ids and understanding TikTok-specific behaviors.
Goal
By the end of this guide, your TikTok Ads campaigns will be synced into Metrikia. You will be able to cross-reference your TikTok spend with your CRM leads to calculate real ROAS, not TikTok pixel estimates.
Why connect TikTok Ads? TikTok has become a major acquisition channel, especially for e-commerce and digital products. Connecting TikTok to Metrikia lets you measure the true return on investment of your video creatives.
Prerequisites
- An active Metrikia account (14-day free trial)
- A TikTok for Business account with at least one Advertiser ID
- Access in Production mode (not Sandbox)
Step 1: Start the OAuth connection
- Go to Settings > Integrations
- Click the TikTok Ads tile > Connect
- TikTok opens an authorization window, sign in with your TikTok for Business account
- Authorize Metrikia to access your advertising data
- You are redirected back to Metrikia
Pro tip: Make sure your TikTok application is in Production mode, not Sandbox. In Sandbox mode, data is fake and syncs will fail silently.
Step 2: Select your Advertiser IDs
TikTok works differently from Meta or Google: the OAuth flow returns an array of advertiser_ids (all ad accounts linked to your access).
- Metrikia displays the full list of your Advertiser IDs after authorization
- Enable sync for each desired account
- If you manage accounts for multiple clients, each Advertiser ID typically corresponds to one client
- Click Save
Metrikia stores the full advertiser_ids array to allow future selection of new accounts without re-authorization.
Step 3: Initial synchronization
The first sync imports your TikTok Ads history:
What Metrikia imports
| Data | Description |
|---|---|
| Campaigns | Name, objective, budget, status |
| Ad groups | Targeting (audiences, interests, demographics), bids, placement |
| Ads | Video creatives, copy, CTA, destination URLs |
| Metrics | Impressions, clicks, CTR, CPM, CPC, spend, conversions |
TikTok specificity: decimal amounts
Unlike Google Ads which uses micros, TikTok returns amounts directly as decimals (e.g., a CPM of 12.50 EUR). Metrikia automatically converts them to cents for internal storage, then displays them in euros on your dashboard.
Step 4: Verify your data
- Go to the ADS tab
- Filter by Platform > TikTok
- Your campaigns, ad groups, and ads appear with their metrics
- Use hierarchical filters to navigate: Platform โ Account โ Campaign โ Ad Group
Troubleshooting
Token expires frequently
TikTok tokens have a limited lifespan. Metrikia automatically handles token refresh. If you see a sync error:
- Go to Settings > Integrations > TikTok Ads
- Click Reconnect to restart the OAuth flow
- Sync resumes automatically after reconnection
Sandbox vs Production mode
If your data looks inconsistent or empty, verify your TikTok application is in Production mode in the TikTok Developer Portal. Sandbox mode returns test data that does not match your real campaigns.
Some metrics are missing
TikTok limits access to certain metrics based on your API access level. If columns appear empty, check your permissions in the TikTok Business Center.
Pro tip: TikTok performs exceptionally well for cold audiences with short-form video. Use the creative filter in Metrikia to identify which videos actually drive sales, not just views.
Next step
Your TikTok campaigns are connected. Now import your CRM leads to calculate real ROAS, or configure Offline Conversions so TikTok can optimize its algorithms with your actual sales.
