Connect your contact form to attribution

Make every form lead (Book a demo, Get a callback, Talk to an expert) automatically tied to the ad that brought the visitor, without changing your CRM.

Goal

By the end of this guide, leads created through a contact form will be automatically tied to the campaign and ad that brought the visitor. You will know which ad drives which booked calls, without adding any form-specific code.

How it works

When a visitor arrives from an ad, the Metrikia pixel records the visit. When they fill in your form, the pixel detects the email field on its own and links their ad journey to the lead. You wire nothing in the form: the same mechanism works for any tool (your own site form, HubSpot, and others).

Prerequisites

  1. The Metrikia pixel is installed on your site (site header or via your tag manager).
  2. Your consent banner is in place: without consent the pixel does not load (GDPR compliance). This is intentional and expected.
  3. Your form has a standard email field.

Steps

  1. Confirm the pixel loads on the form page: open the page, accept the cookie banner, and tracking starts.
  2. Make sure your form uses a real email field (type email). This is the only requirement for auto-detection.
  3. Publish a campaign pointing to that page with your usual parameters (UTM or ad-platform redirect).
  4. Run a test: click your own ad, fill in the form with a test email address.
  5. In Metrikia, open /app/leads, find the test lead: its ad source and campaign appear as soon as the match is made.

Expected result

The form lead shows an ad source (channel, campaign, and ad when the click is trackable). In /app/ads, this lead is counted in the Leads column of the matching ad.

Common problems

The lead has no ad source:

  • The visitor declined consent: the pixel did not load, so no matching is possible. This is expected and unavoidable.
  • The visitor did not come from a trackable ad (direct or organic visit).
  • The form has no standard email field: add an email field.
  • The form email differs from the one later stored in the CRM: use the same address.

The form does not create a lead at all:

  • Check that the submission reaches the CRM. Ad matching does not replace lead creation, it adds to it.
